MUCH MORE THAN THE TERMS OF PEACE DEAL SIGNED BY TPLF AND THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF ETHIOPIA IS ITS IMPLEMENTATION!
One of the good news airing these days about Ethiopia is a promising peace deal between the two sides in war which have ravaged the country and its people since November 4 2020. Personally, I tried to assess the underlying factors of the war not to mention my critical inquiries on the immediate factors giving way for the outbreak of the war. In my assessment, I fore fronted the critical role of foreign forces, mainly the Western powers, in the process of peace deal. Given the stifled political situation among the two big-wigs (the TPLF versus the federal government) is risking the country’s stability at stake, Western powers feared the situation not to end up in total collapse of government in Ethiopia. While leaving my arguments open to skepticisms on the positive role of the West for the long term peace & stability in Ethiopia, I was of opinion that the US and its allies don’t want to see total collapse of government in Ethiopia for as it annoys their short term and long term interests in the Horn of Africa In the meantime, the US and its western allies sought for a clear winner in the political deadlock in Ethiopia to work with them, implicating their endorsements for the military resolve of the stalemate whoever of the two sides at war can make for it Below is how I presented my take on the matter in my book published in February 2022, titled ‘Predicaments of Ethiopia’s Wartime Economy: Uncertainty, Aid Politics and Macroeconomic Instability’, Pages 250-251
THE ROLE OF WESTERN POWERS IN THE MAKINGS OF REGIME CHANGES IN ETHIOPIA
To understand the growing rift between the reformist government in Ethiopia and the West, it takes to go back and look into the latter’s take on the political, economic & security reform in Ethiopia since 2018. The period marking the aftermath of political reform began can be characterized as when the US and its Western allies were ‘enthusiastic’ about the reform process in Ethiopia However, such was unable to persist with changes in developments in Ethiopia ascribed to political, economic, diplomatic and security affairs. As the year passes, the Western powers emerged ardent opponent of the reformist government led by a Nobel Peace Prize Winning Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed Ali (PhD). A particular period to consider in this regard is November 4, 2020. The day marks the outbreak of a War in Tigray Region, whose tolls furthered to other parts of the country as has been a reality in the past 15 months or so Indeed, ensuing developments since the war in Ethiopia broke are clear testimonials for the Western powers interested to work with TPLF. In this sense, it may be relevant to ask why, from the outset, the West allowed (endorsed) the departure of the TPLF/EPRDF rule in Ethiopia back in 2018. Emerging developments also triggers to inquire what factors contributed to an ever straining relation between Ethiopia and the West This viewpoint article attempts to address the above two questions and related other points
Western Powers Suffering from Expectation Crisis on the ‘Post-2018 Reform Process’ in Ethiopia
A fairer understanding about the current state of affairs between Ethiopia and the West, it takes to look back on the matter and recount on what they have expected of Ethiopia from the political reform process began in 2018 and which is an unfinished business as yet. While investigating the matter, the author of the book found it important to recollect from the proceedings of a panel discussion organized by the US Peace Institute in July 2019 The panel discussion was meant to draw inferences on the course the political reform in Ethiopia with a reference point being April 2018 to July 2019. UNDERSTANDING ECONOMICS IN THE CONTEXT OF PROSPERITY

THE ONGOING WAR IN ETHIOPIA’S TIGRAY REGION REQUIRES EARLY SOLUTION
As I believe it so, at least at this time, it may be very hard to convince both parties on war to look an early solution to resolve the conflict. That is because they are as fresh in the fights busy of justifying their causes to move on with their war. Motivated by grievances or revengeful mindsets, the ego of both sides in the conflict may be unabated at this particular time. Only hardships in the upcoming months would give warring sides a real lesson to calm down and look for peaceful solutions. the meantime, however, millions of innocent civilians are at risk of losing precious lives and the destruction of their livelihoods. It is unfortunate to conclude so, but that is a hard reality to admit unless swift response holds to cease the conflict.
SAY NO TO ERITREAN INTERVENTION ON ETHIOPIAN DOMESTIC POLITICS!
As of recent days, there are rumors that Eritrea is deploying its army to Ethiopian border. The motive of such an act in the face where Ethiopia and Eritrea said to have reached a deal for peaceful resolution of their disputes is not unclear. As to my understanding, the move of Eritrean regime is a clear showcase of its growing interest to intervene on Ethiopia`s domestic political affairs. How foreign interventions complicate the politics and leave the people to unending suffering is clear from the case in Somalia, Libya, Yemen, Syria and Afghanistan. I hope every Ethiopian have enough lessons from the grief of innocent civilians in those countries, hence disallow any political move that changes the direction which opens the door for foreign interventions. Today, when secessionist forces like TPLF are mushrooming, Ethiopians in general and the Tigrian people in particular have to take fair fetch from the experience of Eritrea. As any other Ethiopians, Tigrian people are victims of the ongoing political deadlock. And, whatever the ongoing politics can have detaching effect from living under one flag as Ethiopians, I hope Tigray people will not put their motherland (Ethiopia) in exchange of fulfilling the interest of self-serving political circle around. In essence, politics is a weapon to serving the interest of the people it stands to represent. In this regard, the Tigraian people should be evaluative of the political causes of TPLF forces in line with their long term interests. Otherwise, they are average citizens who pay the price of naivety of their political circle, perhaps as experienced by Eritrean people.

የትግራይ ምርጫ አሁንም ሆነ ዘግይቶ ቢካሄድ ውጤቱ አንድ ነው፤ ሂደቱ ላይ ነው ችግሩ። በሁለቱም ምርጫ ቢካሄድ ህወሓት እንደሚያሸንፍ የታወቀ ነው። ነገር ግን የዛሬው ምርጫ ህገ መንግስታዊ መሰረት የሌለው እንደሆነ ይታወቃል። የእልህ አይነት ስለሆነ ምርጫው ምክንያትም፣ ውጤትም የለውም። ይልቅ ህወሓት ከእልህ ነቅቶ ለአገራዊው ምርጫ መዘጋጀት ይኖርበታል። በቀጣዩ አገራዊ ምርጫ ውጤት ብልጽግና ትግራይ፣ ትዴፓ እና/ወይም ኣረና በክልሉ ምክር ቤት የየራሳቸው ወንበር/ድምጽ ይኖራቸዋል የሚል እምነት አለኝ፤ ስለዚህ እነርሱም ቢሆኑ ከእልህ ወጥተው ከህወሓት ጋራ የትግራይን ህዝብ በጋራ የሚያገለግሉበትን መንገድ መተለም አለባቸው።
WHAT EGYPT HAS TO LEARN ABOUT ETHIOPIA
In all their fronts of fight, Ethiopians were all in triumph not because they overpowered their enemies in terms of military arsenals, but because they always make sure they have great causes worth fighting before taking themselves into wars. Today, Ethiopians are facing injustices worth fighting to defend their sovereign right of developing & use of their natural resources.
CONTROVERSY OVER NILE RIVER: ANOTHER SHOWCASE OF GLOBAL INJUSTICE?
Today, Ethiopia is facing injustices over its sovereign rights of use from the Nile water. As Egypt is influencing the world for bad, my message for all Ethiopians is to stand united and defend their flagship project, the GERD Dam. Ethiopians have to optimize all available means and tools in their capacities and voice out their concern in this regard. The world has to understand that Ethiopia’s stand over GERD Dam is a matter of survival or extinction. As we remember from the woes of the two world wars of the 20th century, silence over global injustices cost humanity great losses. The GERD controversy is a reminder of yet for another global injustice emerging. This time, I believe the world is not naïve. My message to the world is to show solidarity for a just and fair global order.

COVID-19 GLOBAL PANDEMIC: INFOGRAPHIC TIMELINE
As we note from history, deadly pandemics have always been inherent to human civilizations. In the past two centuries alone, the world has seen a total of eight major pandemics. In the 20th century three outbreaks recorded as global pandemic: the historic ‘Spanish Influenza’ of 1918, (killed over 100 Million people): the ‘Asian flu’ of 1957 (killed 1.1 million people) and the ‘Hong Kong flu’ of 1968 (killed 1 million people worldwide) The 21st century has seen five pandemic outbreaks: N1H1 in 2009 (‘575,400 killed), Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome –SARS (with 7 to 17% fatality rate) in 2002, Middle East Respiratory Syndrome – MERS (with 35% fatality rate) in 2012, and Ebola which peaked in 2013-14 (with 25% to 90% fatality rate). Currently the world is struggling with the fifth pandemic in 21st century, the coronavirus pandemic- COVID-19. Since the last one month or so, precautionary awareness creations on COVID-19 haven been in place all over Ethiopia. I think enough has been done how to protect oneself from getting contracted of the virus. Thenceforward, the people of Ethiopia should be made clear on the real threat ahead of them. In this regard, the government of Ethiopia has to note that equally important in interventions to save public lives from Covid-19 is publicizing the real threat of damages without hide.

CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC – AN EVIL BUT UNITING FACTOR IN A DIVIDED ETHIOPIA
With the tally of Covid-19 cases in Ethiopia incessantly increasing, the problem is likely to surge and last longer. And the government of Ethiopia declared national calls in the fight against Covid-19, sending clear message to Ethiopians across the board to prepare for the worst. In response to this national call, Ethiopians from all walks of life and levels of economy are contributing in money and kinds to the national Corona emergency task force. For many analysts on Ethiopian affairs, coronavirus pandemic has united an all divided Ethiopia. A country on the verge of fallout threatened by ethnic conflicts, coronavirus is an evil but a uniting force for Ethiopia on lines of humanity.
በኮሮና ቫይረስ ላይ ያለን ቸልተኝት የሚያስከፍለን ዋጋ ምን ያህል ይሆን ?
እንበልና በኢትዮጵያ March 13 2020 በኮረና የተያዙ ሰዎች ቁጥር 2179 ነው። ህዝቡ የማህበራዊ መስተጋብር (Social distancing) መርህን ተከትሎ ህይወቱን የማይመራ ከሆነ በኢትዮጵያ እስከ ግንቦት ወር መጨረሻ ድረስ በኮሮና በሽታ የሚያዙ ሰዎች ቁጥር አርባ (40) ሚሊዮን ይደርሳል። የተለመደው ኑሮ ዘይቤ ከቀጠለ በኢትዮጵያ ከሁለት ወራት በኋላ በኮሮና የሚሞቱ ሰዎች ቁጥር አስራ ስድስት (16) ሚሊዮን ይሆናል። አሁንም ህዝቡ በውድም ሆነ በግድ እንቅስቃሴውን መገደብ ካልተቻለ እስከ ነሐሴ ወር መጨረሻ (በሚቀጥሉት አራት ወራት) ሁሉም በኢትዮጵያ የሚኖር ህዝብ በኮሮና ቫይረስ ይያዛል። በሚቀጥሉት አራት ወራት በኮሮና የሚሞቱ ሰዎች ቁጥር አርባ ስምንት (48) ሚሊዮን ህዝብ ይሆናል።
WATCH OUT FROM DEADLY COVID-19
In Ethiopia, I am seeing people are rather living in ordinary way while the disease prevention requires otherwise. How should we change our lifestyle then? It takes to live the principle of የ-መ ህጎች፦ መጸለይ፣ መታጠብ፣ መራራቅ People learn from two, either from advice or from own grief. Which way to get lesson is up to us!
በኮሮና ቫይረስ ለእልቂት ከመዳረጋችን በፊት ስለበሽታው ያለንን የተዛባ አመለካከት ማስተካከል ግድ ይለናል!
የኮሮና ቫይረስ ኢትዮጵያ ገባ ከተባለ አስር ቀናት አለፉ፤ በእነዚህ ቀናት በስራ ምክንያት በተዘዋወርኩባቸው ድሬዳዋ፣ ሐረር እና ጅግጅጋ ከተሞች ህዝቡ ስለ በሽታው ያለውን አመለካከት ለመታዘብ እድሉ ነበረኝ፡፡ አብዛኛው ህዝብ የሚለው በሽታው ከጸሎት በቀር ምድራዊ በሆነ ነገር መጠንቀቅ አይቻልም ነው፤ ስለሆነም የፈጣሪ ቁጣ ነው፡፡ ለአንዳንዶቹ ደግሞ ከበሽታው ማምለጥ የማይቻልበት ምክንያት በአብዛኛው ህዝብ የቀን ገቢ ያለው በመሆኑ ኢኮኖሚያችን አንድ ቀን እንኳ ቤት እንድንውል አይፈቅድም የሚል ነው፡፡ ኢትዮጵያ የአምላክ የቃልኪዳን አገር ስለሆነች በሽታው እኛን አይመለከተንም የሚሉም በርካታ ናቸው። በሽታውን የፈጣሪ ቁጣ አድርጎ በተስፋ መቁረጥ እጅ አጣጥፎ መጠበቁ አግባብ አይደለም፡፡ስለሆነም ወደ ፈጣሪ እጅን መዘርጋቱ መሰረታዊ መሆኑ ሳይዘነጋ፣ ነገር ግን አእምሯችንን መጠቀም ያስፈልጋል፡፡ ሁላችንም እንደየእምነታችን ጸሎት ማድረጉ ወሳኝ እንደሆነ አምናለሁ፤ ነገር ግን በህክምና ባለሙያዎች የሚሰጡ ምክሮችን ቸል ብሎ ጸሎት ማድረጉ አንዱን ይዞ አንዱን ጥሎ አይነት ነው፡፡
ጠ/ሚ አብይ አህመድ የአለም የሰላም ሎሬት አሸናፊ የሆኑት የዶክትሬት ዲግሪያቸውን በሰላም እና ግጭት አፈታት ስላጠናቀቁ አይመስለኝም!
ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር አብይ የዶክትሬት ዲግሪውን የሰራ ኢትዮጵያዊ ኢኮኖሚስት ሃብት አለመፍጠሩ ወይም ባለሃብት መሆን አለመቻሉ ያሳፍራቸዋል፤ የፖለቲካ ሳይንስ ምሁሩ ሰላማዊ ፖለቲካ በአገሪቱ እንዲሰፍን አለማድረጉም እንዲሁ፡፡ በኢትዮጵያ ሁኔታ ፒ.ኤች.ዲ የህዝብን ችግር ቢፈታ ኖሮ ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትሩ በዶክትሬት ዲግሪያቸው ምን አንንደሰሩበት አላውቅም፡፡ ነገር ግን መልሱን ራሳቸው ዶር አብይ በቅርቡ የብሔራዊ በጎ ፍቃድ አገልግሎት የሚሰጡ ወጣቶችን በሚሊኒየም አዳራሽ ሰብስበው ከተናገሩት እናገኘዋለን፡፡ በመድረኩ እንደተናገሩት (ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር ከመሆናቸው በፊት) ለአገራቸው ማበርከት ሚችሉት ብዙ ሃሳብ እያላቸው (ነገር ግን የፖለቲካ ስልጣን ስላልነበራቸው) ለህዝባቸው መስጠት የሚችሉትን ሳይሰጡ ቆይተዋል፡፡ ዛሬ ግን (የፖለቲካ ስልጣኑን ስለጨበጡ) ራዕያቸውን ለመተግበር ዕድል አግኝተዋል፡፡ በኢትዮጵያ ነባራዊ ሁኔታ አንድ ሰው የፖለቲካ ስልጣን ሲያገኝ ትናንትን ይረሳል፡፡ ዶር አብይ የፖለቲካ ስልጣኑን ሲጨብጡ ትናንታቸውን ረሱሱት፤ እናም አንድ በፒኤች ዲግሪ ደረጃ የትምህርት ዝግጅት ያለው ኢትዮጵያዊ በተማረው ትምህርት እንደይሰራ የሚሆንበትን ምክንያት (ሁኔታዎች ስላልተመቻቹለት ሳይሆን) ከግለሰቡ ድክመት አንጻር ነው ብለው በአደባባይ ተናገሩ፡፡ የዶክትሬት ዲግሪያቸውን በሰላም እና ግጭት አፈታት መስክ ያጠናቀቁት ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር አብይ አህመድ ኖቤል ሎሬት ያደረጋቸው የፒኤች ዲ ዲግሪያቸው ይሆን እንደሆነ አላውቅም፡፡ እኔ የማውቀው በኢትዮጵያ ነባራዊ ሁኔታ የህዝብ ስልጣን የጨበጠ ፖለቲከኛ ሁሉን አዋቂ መሆኑን ነው፡፡ በአገሬ ፖለቲከኛ አይሳሳትም፤ ቢሳሳትም ምን ሊገደው? ዶር አብይ በኢትዮጵዊያን ምሁራን ላይ እንዲያ የተሳለቁት የፖለቲካ ስልጣን ስለጨበጡ ነው፡፡

የኢትዮጵያ ብሔራዊ የምርጫ ቦርድ ባወጣው የጊዜ ሰሌዳ መሰረት ፓርቲዎች የምረጡኝ ቅስቀሳ የሚጀምሩበት ወቅት ባለፈው ሳምንት ይፋ ሆኗል። አሁን ባለው የአገራችን ነባራዊ ሁኔታ ጠብ እንደማንሳት ቀላል ነገር የለምና የምረጡኝ ቅስቀሳው ወቅት ደንበኛ የጠብ ወቅት ሊሆን የሚችልበት እድሉ ሰፊ ነው። ነገሩን አሳሳቢ የሚያደርገው ደግሞ ማህበረሰባችን የአመራር ቀውስ በገጠመው በዚህ ወቅት የምርጫ ቅስቀሳ ሊከወን መሆኑ ነው። ዛሬ በኢትዮጵያ ጠብን የሚያሟሙቅ እንጂ የሚያበርድ መሪ ወይም አስታራቂ ሽማግሌ ማግኘት ከባድ ነውና መራጩ ህዝብ የጠብ መንገዶችን መዝጋት ይገባዋል። ይህም ሲባል የምርጫ ቅስቀሳ መድረኮችን ከመደገፍ አንጻር እንጂ ከመቃወም አንጻር ማየት የለበትም ለማለት ነው።
ከአምስቱ የፋሺስት ወረራ ዓመታት ምን እንማራለን?
ከታሪክ ማህደር እንደምንረዳው የአምስቱ አመታት የፋሺስት ጣልያን ወረራ (1936-1941 ዓ.ም) የተሳካው በውስጥ ድክመታችን የተነሳ ነው፡፡ እንደ ህዝብ፣ እንደ መንግስት የምንወስደው ሃላፊነት አለብን:: ኢተዮጵያዊያን ለዘመናት የኖርነው የህይወት ዘይቤና ፍልስፍና ስራን የሚያበረታታ አለመሆኑና ህዝቡ ለቁሳዊ ሀብት ያለው ግምት ዝቅተኛ መሆን ኢትዮጵያን ከሌላው ዓለም በኢኮኖሚ በእጅጉ ወደ ኋላ አስቀርቷታል፡፡ በእርግጥ በተለያዩ የዘመን ማዕቀፎች ኢትዮጵያን ያስተዳደሩ አብዛኞቹ መሪዎች ህዝቡ ይህን አስተሳሰብ እንዲያዳብር አይፈልጉ እንደነበር ተደጋግሞ ቢጻፍም ህዝቡ ከተወቃሽነት አይድንም፥ መሪዎች ህዝቡን መስላሉ የሚለውን መርሳት የለብንም:: የሆነው ሆኖ የኢጣሊያ ጦር ዘመናዊ መሳሪያ ታጥቆ፣ በምድርና በአየር በወገን ጦር ላይ መዓቱን ሲያወርድ፣ኢትዮጵያዊያን አርበኞች ግን ከሃምሳ አመታት ቀደም ብሎ በአድዋ ጦርነት ታጥቀው የዘመቱትን ባህላዊ መሳሪያዎች ነበር የታጠቁት፡፡ ፕሮፌሰር መስፍን እንዲህ ጽፈዋል፡- ኢትዮጵያ ያለችበትን በጣም ዝቅተኛና ቆሞ ቀር ደረጃ በተግባር አስመሰከረች፤ይህ አዲስ ዕውነት የኢትዮጵያ ህዝብ ለዘመናት የነበረውን አልበገር ባይነት ከነኩራቱና ክብሩ ገፈፈው፤ የመንፈስ ሃይሉ ደቀቀ፤ አንገቱን ደፋ፡፡ ለማይጨው ጦርነት መሸነፍ ሌላው ሰበብ፣ ጦሩን ያዘመቱና የመሩ ሹማምንት ከልባቸው አልነበሩም፣ ወኔ የከዳቸው ነበሩ የሚሉ መረጃዎች አሉ:: የዚህ ምክንያት ደግሞ የዘመኑ የኢትዮጵያ ፖለቲካና የአስተዳደር ስርዓት ለአገራዊ መግባባት በዝቅተኛ ደረጃ እንኳ እውቅና ያልሰጠ፣ ፍትህና መልካም አስተዳደር የማያውቅ፣ ደካማ መሆኑ ነበር:: የአሁኑ የኢትዮጵያ ገዢዎች ከዚህ መማር ያለባቸው ቁም ነገር ቢኖር፣ የሚከተሉትን የፖለቲካ ስርዓት መለስ ብለው መቃኘት እንደሚገባቸው ነው:: አስተዳደራቸውና ፖሊሲዎቻቸው በተለያየ ደረጃና ስልጣን ያሉ የመንግስት አካላትን የማይከፋፍል፣ የህዝብና መንግስትን ግንኙነት የማያሻክር መሆኑን ማረጋገጥ ያስፈልጋቸዋል:: ይህ ካልሆነ ግን ውስጣችንን አድክሞ የኢትዮጵያና ህዝቦቿን ሰላምና ብልጽግናን ለማይሹ የውጭ ሀይሎች ምቹ ሁኔታን ይፈጥራል፥ የአገርና የህዝብ ህልውናም በእጅጉ አደጋ ላይ እንደሚወድቅ፣ ለራሳቸው ለፖለቲካው አራማጆችና (ገዥዎች) ጭምር የማይበጅ መሆኑን ከአጼ ሀይለ ስላሴና ባለሟሎቻቸው ስደትና የመንግስታቸው መፍረስ ሊማሩ ይገባል::
የሙስሊም ወገኖቻችን ጉዳይ የሁሉም ኢትዮጵያዊ ጉዳይ ነው!
የቅራኔ ታሪክን መሰረቱ ያደረገው የኢትዮጵያ ፖለቲካ የተንሸዋረረ መሆኑ ሳያንስ የታሪካዊ ቅራኔውን በትክክለኛ አስረጅነት አለመግለጹ ሌላው ችግር ነው፡፡ ከዚህ አንጻር የብሔር ቅራኔን መሰረቱ ያደረገው የፖለቲካዊ ስርዓት የኢትዮጵያን ህዝብ የዘመናት ችግር ከመግለጽ አንጻር ቢያንስ ምሉዕነት የጎደለው ነው፡፡የዚህ ችግር ነጸብራቅ ከሆኑ አንዱ የሙስሊሙ ማህበረሰብ ለዓመታት ሲያነሳቸው ለነበሩ ጥያቄዎች የፖለቲካ ስርዓቱ መልስ ከመስጠት ይልቅ ጥያቄውን የመጠርጠር አዝማሚያ የነበረው መሆኑ ነው፡፡ብሔር ተኮር የጭቆና የታሪክ ትርክት ካልመለሳቸው ጉዳዮች አንዱ የኢትዮጵያ ሙስሊሞችን ጉዳይ ነው። የፖለቲካን አጀንዳ ከታሪክ ቅራኔ አንጻር እንኳ ቢቃኝ የኢትዮጵያ የታሪክ ትንተና መሆን የነበረበት ብሔራዊ ቅራኔ ሳይሆን በመደባዊ ቅራኔ ነበር።
የሁለት ወረርሽኞች ወግ፡ የኮሮና ወረርሽኝ እና ስፓኒሽ ፍሉ (የሕዳር በሽታ)
እ.ኤ.አ በ1920 የተከሰተው ስፓኒሽ ፍሉ (የህዳር በሽታ) እና የኮሮና ወረርሽኞች በብዙ መልኩ ተመሳስሎሽ አላቸው፡፡ የተመሳስሎሻቸው መገለጫዎች ከብዙ በጥቂቱ፡- • የበሽታዎቹ አማጪ ተህዋስ ቫይረስ ነው፤ • ሁለቱም የመተንፈሻ አካላትን የሚያጠቁ ናቸው፤ • የበሽታው ምልክቶች እና በሽታው የሚተላለፍባቸው መንገዶች ተመሳሳይነት አላቸው • ሌላው የወረርሽኞቹ ተዛምዶ የጊዜ(የዘመን) ነው፡፡ o ከዚህ አንጸር ሁለቱም በአለም የታዩት በጥር ወራት፣ በክፍለ ዘመኑ ሁለት አስርት አመታት መባቻ ገደማ ነው፡፡ o ታሪክ ራሱን ይደግማል እንደሚሉት አበው፣ የኮሮና ወረርሽኝ የተከሰተው የስፓኒሽ ፍሉ ወረርሽኝ ከተከሰተ መቶ ዓመታት (አንድ ክፍለ ዘመን) ሲደፍን መሆኑ ነው፡፡ o ወረርሽኞቹ የተከሰቱባቸው ወቅቶች የዓለም የፖለቲካ እና የደህንነት አውድና ስሪት ተመሳስሎሽ አላቸው፡፡ ይህን ለማብራራት ያህል፡- የህዳር በሽታ የተከሰተው አለም በከፍተኛ የብሔርተኝነት ጡዘት የደረሰበት ነበር፤ የብሔርተኝነት ጡዘቱ ባመጣው ጣጣ የአለም ሃያላን አገራት የጦር መሳሪ እሽቅድምድም የገቡበት ነበር፤ ይህ የአለም ሃያላን እሰት እገባ በርትቶ በአለም ታሪክ የአንደኛው የአለም ጦርነት ወቅት ነበር፡፡ ዛሬም ሶስተኛው አለም ጦርነት አደጋ በአለም ያንዣበበበት ወቅት እንደሆነ እየኖርነው ጉዳይ ስለመሆኑ ማብራሪያ አያስፈልገውም፡፡ የኮሮና ወረርሽኝን በተመለከተ አንባቢ ስለበሽታው ወቅታዊ መረጃ እንዲሁም ስለ ወቅቱ የአለም የፖለቲካ እና የደህንነት ትኩሳት መጠነኛ ግንዛቤ አለው የሚል እምነት አለኝ፡፡ ስለሆነም የሁለቱን ወረርሽኞችን ተዛምዶ ከላይ በተዘረዘሩት አግባብ ያወዳድር ዘንድ ስለ ስፓኒሽ ፍሉ (የህዳር በሽታ) ወፍ በረር ታሪካዊ ቅኝት አደርጋለሁ፡፡

የጽሑፌ መነሻ አቶ ልደቱ በአብይ አህመድ የአመራር ብቃት ላይ በአስራት (ASRAT) ቴሌቭዥን የሰጠው አስተያየት ነው(ምስሉን ይመልከቱ)። በእኔ አተያይ አስተያየቱ በራሱ ቅንነት የጎደለው ነው። ምክንያቱም አቶ ልደቱ በኢትዮጵያ ያለውን ነባራዊ ሁኔታ እያወቀ እንደማያውቅ ሆኖ የተናገረው ነው። መሪያችን በስንት ገመድ እየተጎተተ እንዳለ እንኳን እንደ አቶ ልደቱ አያሌው ያለ አንጋፋ ፖለቲከኛ ለማንኞውም ዜጋ የተሰወረ ሀቅ አይደለም። ብሔርተኞች በየፈርጃቸው ፍላጎታቸውን እንዲያስፈጽምላቸው ሲውተረተሩ፣ ህወሓት በውስጠ ፓርቲ ቅራኔ ፌዴራል ሥርዓቱን ለማዳከም ቀን ከሌት እየሰራ ባለበት ሁኔታ ይህ ሰው ብቻውን በብልሃት እና በጥበብ ፈተናዎቹን በአግባቡ እያለፈ ያለ መሪ ነው። አብይ ከብዙ አቅጣጫ እየተጋፈጠ ያለው የገመድ ጉተታ እልባት የሚያገኘው፣ በዚህም ከተለያዩ ዋልታ ረገጥ ፖለቲካዊ ፍላጎቶች ተጽዕኖ ተላቅቆ የሚያስወቅስም ሆነ የሚያስመሰግን ውሳኔ ሊወስን የሚችለው ከምርጫው በኋላ ነው

ዛሬ በውድ የኢትዮጵያ ወጣቶች ደም ስንናፍቀው የኖርነውን የነጻነት አየር መተንፈስ በጀመርንበት ወቅት የኢትዮጵያ ህዝብ እርስ በርስ ለመነቋቆር እና ለመበጣበጥ የሚነሳበት ምክንያት የለውም፤ ነገሩ የፖለቲካ አጀንዳ ልዩነት (ቢኖር እንኳ በንግግር መፍታት ይቻላል) ሳይሆን የአመል ነው። የአመል ችግር የሚለውን የሚጠቀልል የአማርኛ ቃል የቅንነት ችግር (Lack of integrity) ነው። የፖለቲካችን ስንክሳርም ይህ የቅንነት ችግር ነው፡፡ በአጠቃላይ ቅን አለመሆናችን ለብዙ መከራ ዳርጎናል፤ ከቤተሰብ ጀምሮ እስከ አገራዊ ችግሮቻችን መነሾ ናቸው የምላቸው ምክንያቶች የዚሁ ውጤት ናቸው፤ የቅንነት ችግር ምልክቶች የሚከተሉት ናቸው፦ • እውነትን ከሐሰት፤ ትክክለኛውን ከስህተተኛ ለመለየት የመንፈስ፣ የሞራልም ሆነ የአእምሮ ዝግጁነት ማጣት፣ • በስሌት ሳይሆን በስሜት መነዳት፣ • ለበረታው ዕውቅና ከመስጠትና በመንፈሳዊ ቅናት( rational selfishnes) ተነሳስተን ከስኬቱ ሂደት ለመማር ከመሞከር ይልቅ ስኬቱን ለማሳነስ መሞከር፣ • ብልጣብልጥነት፣ ጮሌነት እና የድል አጥቢያ አርበኝነት። እኛ ኢትዮጵያውያን ቅን ብንሆን ኖሮ፦ • በህይወት መስመራችን ጉዳያችን የሆነን ነገር የምናውቅ፣ በመሆኑም አላስፈላጊና ጥቃቅን የሆኑ ነገሮችን እንደ ጉዳይ ወስደን ራስ በራሳችንን ባላደከምን፣ የምናደርገው ነገር ሁሉ በምክንያት በሆነ፣ የድርጊቶቻችን ውጤት አንዱን ይዞ አንዱን መጣል አይነት ሆኖብን ለመንግስት ብቻ ሳይሆን ለፈጣሪ እንኳ አስቸጋሪ ህዝቦች ባልሆን ነበር። • ለተንሸዋረረ የታሪክ አረዳዳድ ባልተጋለጥን ነበር፤ የረጅም ዘመን ታሪካችን ለአንድነታችን መሠረት የሆኑ እጅግ በርካታ በጎ ሁነቶችን ያዘለ ቢሆንም ይህ የታሪክ እውነት ደብዝዞ በአንጻሩ ያለፈው በጎ ያልሆነው የታሪካችን አካል ባልደመቀ ነበር። • በታሪክ ሂደት ያሳለፍነው በርካታ መልካም እንደነበር ሁሉ መልካም ያልሆኑ ግንኙነቶች እንዳሳለፍን እንረዳ ነበር። በመሆኑም የምንወዳት እና የጋራ ቤታችን የሆነችው ኢትዮጵያ የምንላት አገር ህዝቦቿ በተለያዩ ምክንያቶች(ኃይማኖታዊ፣ የማንነት፣ ራስን በራስ የማስተዳዳር ወዘተ….) በተለያዩ ወቅቶች በአገራዊ እና አለማቀፋዊ ገፊ ምክንያቶች እርስ በርስ የተዋጉ፣ አንዱ ሌላውን ያስገበረበት ሁነቶች በርካታ መሆናቸውን በአንድ በኩል የመካድ በሌላው በኩል የማጉላት አዝማሚያ የፖለቲካችን መዘውር (pillar) ሆኖ ባልተቸገርን ነበር። • ዛሬ ላይ በጎ ያልሆነውን የታሪካችን አካል እና(ወይም) ወካይ ምልክቶቹን ማንሳታችን ተገቢነቱ ካለፈው ስህተታችን ለመማር እንጂ ለመነታረክ ፣ ለመበሻሸቅ፣ የአሸናፊነት ወይም የተሸናፊነት መንፈስ በማስረጽ ባልከፋፈለን ነበር። • በመሆኑም ዛሬ ላይ ይህን በጎ ያልሆነ የታሪክ አሻራ ጠባሳ ሰለባ ያልሆነ የኢትዮጵያ ህዝብ አካል የሆነ ብሔር፣ የሐይማኖት እና የፖለቲካ ቡድን አለመኖሩ፣ በዚህም የኢትዮጵያ ህዝብ የእነዚህ የማህበረብ ክፍሎች(ህዝቦች) ድምር መሆኑን ተረድተን፣ የመጥፎ ታሪካችን ሰለባ የነበሩትን ወገኖቻችንን የሚያበሳጩ፣ ሰቆቃቸውን የሚያስታውሱ ምልክቶች ለሌላኞቻችን የድል አድራጊነት፣ የአሸናፊነት፣ ምልክት ከማድረግ በተቆጠብን ነበር። • በአጠቃላይ ታሪካችን የመማሪያ ሳይሆን መጥፎ የታሪክ አሻራችን አገርሽቶ ሌላ መጥፎ ታሪክ ለመጭው ትውልድ ለሚያወርሱ እኩይ ድርጊቶች የሚጋብዝ፣ ትልቅ የተስፋ ጮራ የፈነጠቀውን የለውጥ ሂደት የሚቀለብስ፣ ሲከፋም የጋራ ቤታችን የምንላትን ኢትዮጵያ ምኞት ብቻ እንዳትሆን ትልቅ ስጋት ባልሆነ ነበር ። እኛ ኢትዮጵያዊን ቅንነት ቢኖረን ኖሮ፦ • የአገር አንድነት እና የሉዓላዊነት ጉዳይ ጨምሮ በእለት ተዕለት ግንኙነቶቻችንን የምንወያየው እና የምንከራከረው ፋይዳ ስላለው ጉዳይ ይሆን፣ በእንቅሰቃሴዎቻችን ሁሉ ትልቁን ምስል ባልተጋረደብን ነበር፣ • በታሪካችን አይተን የማናውቃቸው እንደ ለማ መገርሳ፣ ገዱ አንዳርጋቸው፣ አብይ አህመድ፣ ደመቀ መኮንን አይነት ጥሩ መሪዎች አግኝተን በነቢብ እየደገፍናቸው በገቢር ግን እየወጋናቸው መሆኑን መገንዘብ ይቻለን ነበር፤መልካም አመራራቸውን ለመደገፍ ከመጣር ይልቅ በየዕለቱ የቤት ስራ ባልሆንባቸው ነበር። ኢትዮጵያዊያን የቅንንነትን እሴቶችን እሴቶቻቸው በማድረግ ራሳቸውንም ሆና አገራቸውን ከጥፋት ይታደጉ ዘንድ ብቸኛው አማራጫቸው ነው።
ኢትዮጵያን ያቀፍናት መስሎን እንዳናንቃት!
በኢትዮጵያ የታሪክ ትርክት ሆነ የፖለቲካ አሰላለፎች እንደምናየው ልሙጡ ባንዲራ ያለፈው የጭቆና ስርዓት ምልክት እንደሆነ የሚያነሱ የብሔር ሆነ የሃይማኖት ማህበረሰብ ክፍሎች አሉ፡፡ ለአብዛኞቹ ብሔሮች እና ብሔረሰቦች ይህን ባንዲራ ማውለብለብ ትርጉሙ ያለፈው ብሔራዊ ጭቆናን ማወደስ ነው፤ በለብዙሃኑ የእስልምና እንዲሁም የፕሮቴስታንት ክርስትና ተከታይ ኢትዮጵያዊንም ትርጉሙ እንዲሁ ነው፡፡ ኢትዮጵያ፤ ኢትዮጵያ የምንል ወገኖች የምር ኢትዮጵያን የምንፈልጋት ከሆነ በሌሎች ወንድሞቻችንን ቁስል ላይ ሌላ ህመም ባንጨምር ጥሩ ነው፡፡ ለኢትዮጵያ ቀናዒ ከሆንን ብዝሃነትን ማክበር አለብን፡፡ ይህ ካልሆነ ግን የፉክክር ቤት ሳይዘጋ ያድራል እንዲሉ የምንጮኽላት ኢትዮጵያ ህልም ሆና ትቀራለች፤ ኢትዮጵያ ህልም ከሆነች ራዕያችን ሁሉ ህልም ሆኖ ይቀራል፡፡ ለአፍታም ቢሆን በአገር አልባነት ውስጥ የእያንዳንዳችን ህይወት ምን እንደሚመስል እናስብ፤ በፈረሰ አገር ውስጥ፡- ስራ የለም! ቤተሰብ የለም! ልጅ ወልዶ መሳም የለም! መንፈሳዊ ህይወት የለም! ቤተ ክርስቲያን፣ መስጊድ የለም! ሳቅና ጨዋታ የለም! ደመወዝ የለም! ቢራ የለም! ጫት መቃም የለም! መስከርም ሆነ መመርቀን የለም! ጮማ መቁረጥ የለም! ወጥቶ መግባት የለም! ምንም የለም
The Ethiopian Army at a Conceptual Crossroad?
The Ethiopian army is a national pride, an imminent force in defence of the sovereignty of Ethiopian state. Since 1995, the army has been given with one more role, a guardian of a revolutionary democratic government. Since the onset of a reform in the army some two years back, its role as a last resort in defence of a revolutionary democratic government has faded away. Whether the reform in the army has brought a real change to depoliticize its mission is what time will tell. But, the pillars of the reform process shall be disclosed to public.
እየተንሰራፋ የመጣው የኩላሊት ህመም ከጤና ባሻገር የፖለቲካል-ኢኮኖሚ ገጽታ ይኖረው ይሆን?
የጤና ባለሙያ ስላልሆንኩ ስለጉዳዩ ትንተና መስጠት አልችልም። ነገር ግን በአጭር ጊዜ በሽታው አጣዳፊ የማህበረሰብ ጤና እክል ደረጃ የመድረሱ ነገር ከጤና ባለፈ የፖለቲካል-ኢኮኖሚ ገጽታ ይኖረው ይሆን የሚል ጥያቄን አጭሮብኛል።በእርግጥም መንግስት እና ለመንግስት ቅርበት ያላቸው ነጋዴዎች ባለፉት አመታት በምግብ እና ምግብ ነክ ምርቶች እንዲሁም በመድሃኒት ንግድ ላይ በስፋት መሳተፋቸው በምርቶቹ ጥራት ቁጥጥር ላይ የራሱ አሉታዊ ተጽዕኖ እንደሚኖረው እገምታለሁ። ይህም ማህበረሰቡን እንደ ኩላሊት ያሉ ገዳይ በሽታዎች ተጋላጭ የሚሆንበትን ዕድል ማስፋቱ የማይቀር ነው።

As to my inference, Trump has said all about Ethiopia (where he rather referred the country not by name but by its leader, who won this year’s Nobel Peace Prize). There is nowhere Trump referred Eritrea, even indirectly. But, what was the problem he referred about Ethiopia? How he managed to resolve the problem? With whom did Trump made a deal?
THE COST OF POSTPONING THE UPCOMING NATIONAL ELECTION IN ETHIOPIA
Ethiopia is eying for its national election in May 2020. But, the country is divided on whether to uphold or postpone the election as scheduled. With the country at crossroad, the essence of the scheduled election would amount not for the sake of promoting democracy, but beyond to maintain rule of law and national integrity. The cost of upholding or postponing the national election counts with its inevitable consequences in those regards

FOR A WHILE, I AM CERTAIN THAT ABIY AHMED IS A RIGHT MAN IN THE RIGHT TIME TO LEAD. BUT, I AM YET TO BE SURE IF HE CAN ACHIEVE SUCH A PRIVILEGE AS A TRUE LEADER. ONLY TIME TELLS THAT. I HOPE ABIY AHMED WILL NOT LOSE IN THIS REGARD
በከፍተኛ ትምህርት ተቋማት ሰላማዊ የመማር ማስተማር እንዴት ይስፈን?
አንድ አገር የሆነ ችግር ሲገጥማት ችግሩን ሊፈቱ የሚችሉ የትምህርት ዘርፎች ዙሪያ ለማሠልጠን መነሳሳቷ ክፋት ባይኖረውም፣ ጨርሶውኑ የትምህርት መነሻውም መድረሻውም ቁሳዊ ፍላጎት መሆኑ ግን ትልቅ ስህተት ነው፡፡ በዚህ ረገድ በቀደመው ዘመን የነበረው የትምህርት ሥርዓት የተሻለ እንደሆነ በርካታ ምሁራን የሚስማሙበት ነው። ከ40 እና 50 ዓመታት በፊት ዘመናዊ ትምህርት ሲጀመር፣ ከቀለም ትምህርት ጎን ለጎን የግብረ ገብ ትምህርት ይሰጥ ነበር፡፡ ዛሬ ግን ይህ የለም፡፡ ለዚህ አንዱ ማሳያ የተማሪዎች ግብረ ገብ ማሽቆልቆል፣ እንዲሁም መምህራን የተማሪዎችን ሥነ ልቦናዊና የሞራል እሴቶችን በማጎልበት ረገድ የነበራቸው ሚና እየቀነሰ መምጣቱ ነው።
ETHIOPIANS ARE VICTIMS OF THEIR OWN ELITES !!!
Circumstantial evidences in Ethiopian political scene witnesses the elite group have been driving the people in whatever course they wish, often to serve their own agenda than targeting the popular causes. This piece is to reflect my suggesting why and how Ethiopian populace to liberate their minds from control by elite group and its subsidiary media moguls (both in social media and conventional media).
ABIY AHMED: FROM MESSIAH TO CAPTOR?
Among remarkable steps forward forged by Abiy Ahmed is his keen action towards healing the fracture of Ethiopian political culture. A typical feature of Ethiopian political culture is low record of resolving differences through dialogue, on give and take principle. Sadly, in Ethiopia resolving political differences has been through political playoffs. Abiy has inherited this political culture. And his grand political project is to build a political system that heals fracture of the political culture. So far, key legal & institutional arrangements were made to achieve that, like refurbishment of the national electoral board of Ethiopia in a way that better insulate from political interferences. The national reconciliation commission also installed, aimed at treating the discontent (victims) groups from whatever injustices in the past. Another face of Abiy Ahmed`s change oriented leadership style is his appreciation to power. Quite different from his predecessors as heads of governments in Ethiopia, Abiy has broken the old faceted notion on state power taken for granted a self-enrichment and build own images by political leaders. From the first day of his appointment as head of FDRE government, Abiy has been living power an instrument to bring change and serve people. His move in this regard starts by inspiring his cabinets with his path breaking leadership personality, with humility, selflessness, and a serving mentality. Abiy stressed the need to develop the culture of volunteerism to serve popular interests. In all public projects and/or activities required public mobilizations, Abiy appeared up front with his exemplary deeds, influencing the leadership in his circle and the wider Ethiopian populace to follow suit his steps. With a good records of implementations of state projects so far, Abiy and his leadership has shown rich account of knowledge in the area of project management. In the venture of international relations, the success stories of Abiy Ahmed`s governments so far tells the leader understood and was firm to the essence of globalization.
ETRSS-1 : Purchased or Constructed by Ethiopian Minds?
As a proud Ethiopian, I am happy that my country has achieved a milestone in space science technology with successful launching of its first ever space satellite, ETRSS-1, today December 20, 2019. But, I think there are companies which produce satellites at the disposal of use by giant corporations/companies on sale/rent. So, can we say December 20 remarks Ethiopia owned a satellite technology? I mean can Ethiopia (thenceforward) produce and/or reproduce more space satellite for sale or additional launches? The government has to clear on those issues to Ethiopian populace.
